SPANISH CLUB
Students have the opportunity to use the skills they learn in the classroom while having fun at several Spanish Club events. Pen pal dinners, movie nights, conversation hours, volleyball tournaments, Karaoke nights, ice cream socials, international student overnights, and a visit to El Mesón restaurant (and other fun food activities such as Sabores Locos) are all wonderful activities that make learning a foreign language meaningful.
The Spanish National Honor Society was developed in order to honor the students who excel academically and who possess tremendous leadership qualities. The students are required to do well in all of their classes. They also must do a specific number of volunteer hours each year within the Hispanic community. Along with being honored, the members of the Spanish Honor Society learn the rewards of making a positive impact on the world around them. In the Spring each year, scholarships are awarded to seniors who plan to continue their study of Spanish at the university level.
The AFS International Club organizes interactive activities that promote learning about other countries, languages, and cultures. The host students and the international students enjoy events such as pool parties, bonfires, BBQ's, overnight events, and international foods fiestas.
